SUMMARY:Flitwick Comedy Club Oct 13th
DESCRIPTION:Flitwick Comedy club Flitwick CLUB saturday October 13th\nFor tickets please call 01525 751555\nfeaturing (clip below) \nIAN COGNITO \n \nCogs remains a true original; If you haven’t seen him\, you won’t have a clue who we’re talking about\, and if you have then you certainly won’t have forgotten the name. Tales of power drills\, genital exposure and traumatised promoters follow in his wake as does the hysterical laughter of those who have been lucky enough to see one of this country’s greatest comedians. \n“Ian Cognito delivered a performance with all the presence\, clarity and direction of a true virtuoso player. This electrifying\, terrifying and ultimately vulnerable performer warmed a cold Glasgow audience to boiling point. Stand up should always be like this” – The List \n“Cognito’s indignant polemic is a bracing antidote to more amiable routines. When a comedian can transform rage into humour without diluting their passion\, the result is always riveting. Share his inspired madness” – The Guardian \n“Cognito puts them all in the shade. A show about attempting to run The London Marathon. ‘A hugely entertaining\, cheerfully uplifting treat of a show’ said Chortle.com\, and The Scotman called it joyful\, heart-warming\, and funny. Both gave him four stars.\nIt wasn’t a fluke. Chortle.co.uk gave him five stars in 2007 for Deafy’s Island Discs\, a show The Sunday Times called ‘Funny and Moving’. This show toured the UK in 2008\, Steve’s third national tour of the uk\, and has been performed in several countries in Europe and translated into Italian. No-one knows why.\nA familiar voice on Radio 4\, Steve has appeared many times on You and Yours\, was a token man on Woman’s Hour\, has appeared in two radio dramas\, All Fingers and Thumbs with Bill Nighy\, whom he punched dramatically\, and Sound Barriers with Patricia Routledge and Caroline Quentin\, both of whom he was prevented from punching.\nA disabled performer\, Steve is more concerned with success in the mainstream comedy circuit\, but is happy to ‘deaf it up’ as necessary if the money is ok and there are sandwiches.\n“revelatory and very funny” – The Guardian”wonderful” – Bath Chronicle”warm\, funny\, frank and thought-provoking” – The Scotsman”the best comedy often comes from real-life observations\, something that Day had down to a T” – Brighton Argus”a very different kind of comedy … something which Day seems particularly proud of\, and so he should be” – Three Weeks”a hilarious\, hard-of-hearing\, heavenly host” – Time Out Comic’s Choice”has a self-effacing charm which endears him to audiences” – Chortle \nPrivate and Corporate Work Home Office\, Foreign & Commonwealth Office\, London School of Economics\, EDS\, Redhill Analysts\, Thompson Holidays\, Barclays Bank\, Citizens’ Advice Bureau\, all major political party conferences\, various Primary Care Trusts\, numerous Disability and Equality events.\nTV\, Radio and Writing Work’Quiet London’ – writer.TimeOut London\, 27th June 2006.’One in Seven’ – writer.RNID\, regular column since June 2005. ‘Abnormally Funny People’ – performer.Sky TV\, January 2006. DESCRIPTION:Buy tickets here\, click show times tab \nhttps://www.shermantheatre.co.uk/performance/comedy/studio-comedy-club-2018/ \n \nSeptember 12th \nSTEVE DAY \n \n \nSteve Day describes himself as Britains only deaf comedian\, if there are any others he hasn’t heard. \nIn March 2012 Steve was chosen out of 2000 applicants to be taken on by The BBC as a trainee presenter specialising in sport and comedy shows\, part of The corporations Presentable search for new talent. \nIn 2011 Steve returned to The Edinburgh fringe with Run\, Deaf Boy\, Run. A show about attempting to run The London Marathon. ‘A hugely entertaining\, cheerfully uplifting treat of a show’ said Chortle.com\, and The Scotman called it joyful\, heart-warming\, and funny. Both gave him four stars. \nIt wasn’t a fluke. No-one knows why. \nA familiar voice on Radio 4\, Steve has appeared many times on You and Yours\, was a token man on Woman’s Hour\, has appeared in two radio dramas\, All Fingers and Thumbs with Bill Nighy\, whom he punched dramatically\, and Sound Barriers with Patricia Routledge and Caroline Quentin\, both of whom he was prevented from punching. \nA disabled performer\, Steve is more concerned with success in the mainstream comedy circuit\, but is happy to ‘deaf it up’ as necessary if the money is ok and there are sandwiches. \n“revelatory and very funny” – The Guardian\n“wonderful” – Bath Chronicle\n“warm\, funny\, frank and thought-provoking” – The Scotsman\n“the best comedy often comes from real-life observations\, something that Day had down to a T” – Brighton Argus\n“a very different kind of comedy … something which Day seems particularly proud of\, and so he should be” – Three Weeks\n“a hilarious\, hard-of-hearing\, heavenly host” – Time Out Comic’s Choice\n“has a self-effacing charm which endears him to audiences” – Chortle \n  \nHUGH DAVIES \nAS SEEN ON COMEDY CENTRAL \n \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZHSuif8GLc \nAmused Moose 2017 – Finalist\nBBC New Comedy Award 2017 – Nominee\nPart of The Soho Theatre Young Company \nCombining his confident on stage presence\, dark humour\, surreal material and one-of-a-kind customised keyboard\, Huge has quickly risen to become one the most promising unique new acts in the UK. \nHaving only tried stand up for the first time in late 2014 during his final year of University\, within his first year of comedy he had supported such acts such as Sara Pascoe and Nish Kumar. Huge is also a member of the Soho Young Company comedy lab\, performing regular sold out showcases at the Soho Theatre. He now plays at some of the biggest clubs all over the UK\, such as Komedia Brighton\, The Boat Show\, Up the Creek\, Manford’s Comedy Club and The Frog & Bucket. \nAfter co-writing and co-performing his musical Bendiana Jones and The Temple of Huge at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival\, Huge is now currently working towards his debut solo hour. \n‘Jet black\, funny and unsettling’ \nChortle \n‘Clearly an act that will be going places’ \nBruce Dessau \nMC: GABBY KILLICK \n  \nOi Oi Comedy on Facebook\n  \nOI OI COMEDY on Facebook \nComedy In Cardiff \nComedy Clubs Wales \nALL LINEUPS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
