RICHARD MORTON ON JACK DEE SHOW
Richard Morton is a stand-up comedian, singer/songwriter, composer, TV/radio presenter, documentary maker, Time Out Comedy Award winner and founder member of the London Comedy Store’s long-running Cutting Edge show.
Richard is one half of the legendary harmony singing duo, The Panic Brothers and has also composed and recorded two albums of instrumental theme music with The Rich Morton Sound that have been critically acclaimed.
Richard has been an established headliner on the UK comedy circuit since the early 1990s, when he was also a regular support act on extensive UK theatre tours for stars such as Jack Dee, Jo Brand, Lee Evans and Phil Jupitus.
Richard has performed his successful one-man show at prestigious music and comedy festivals all over the world, including Edinburgh, Latitude, Reading, Leeds, Kilkenny, Phoenix and Montreal’s Just For Laughs.
TV credits…In the late ‘90s, Richard was a familiar face on Channel 5. His half-hour The Comedy Store Special went out on their second night; he presented two series of the quiz show, Move On Up, and was a regular panellist on both Bring Me The Head Of Light Entertainment and Wow, Fab, Groovy. And, after many guest spots, he was also a guest host on The Jack Docherty Chat Show.Other notable TV credits include appearances on The Comedy Store (Paramount Comedy), The Jack Dee Show (ITV), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC 2), The Stand Up Show (BBC 1), Gag Tag (BBC 1),The World Stands Up (Paramount), That’s Entertainment (ITV), Wogan (BBC 1), Richard & Judy (Channel 4), Nothing Like A Royal Show (ITV); plus acting roles on Jack & Jeremy’s Real Lives (Channel 4) and the BAFTA award-winning series, Our Friends In The North (BBC2). Richard also worked as a joke and songwriter on Jack Dee’sSunday Service(ITV).
Radio credits…Over recent years Richard has written and presented various documentaries about music or comedy for BBC Radio 4, including In The Lounge With Rich Morton and, in early 2015, The Lost Art Of The TV Theme?
Other Radio 4 credits include being a panel member on the series Cross Questioned, and regular guest spots on Loose Ends, 4 At The Store and the classic quiz show Just A Minute.
For BBC Radio 2, Richard presented a series of Stand Up 2 and was a regular guest on Jammin’. For Radio 1, he was a frequent guest on Comedy Network and contributor to the topical comedy show Loose Talk.

James is an imaginative storytelling comedian who combines deft stand-up with daft stories.
This year Dowdeswell has appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC), Celebrity Deal Or No Deal with Jimmy Carr (C4), Olympics Greatest Moments (BBC) and Jongleurs Live (Loaded TV). He has also appeared in Ricky Gervais’ Extras, The World Stands Up, Edinburgh And Beyond on the Paramount Comedy Channel. He is currently filming his own comedy show about wine called “James Dowdeswell – Black Belt In Wine.”
James is a headline act at most top UK comedy clubs and co-produces Storytellers’ Club with Sarah Bennetto. His comedy has travelled as far as Shanghai, Dubai, Doha, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Phuket, Bali, France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Malta, Lanzarote, Tenerife, Australia and Singapore.
